Berlin-based artist Isabel Reitemeyer is thought for making uncanny collages that splice photos of animals and our bodies into humorously enigmatic compositions. In her latest sequence, songbirds with guinea pig heads perch on twigs, horses with huge bunny ears stand in fields, and a retriever appears to be like out at us from the physique of a rooster. The assemblages, which are sometimes small in scale and constructed from discovered images and cutouts, are deftly aligned in order that the outlines of the animals match collectively seamlessly.

A bunny’s beady eye or the slight cock of a terrier’s head offers character to every chimerical creature, as if self-aware of their uncommon predicament. Reitemeyer faucets into the methods we anthropomorphize our pets and different animals, studying into their expressions and emotions as in the event that they had been our personal, leading to sly and weird personalities.

You will discover extra of Reitemeyer’s collages on her website and on Instagram.
