Charlottetown fire calls up slightly in May

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown firefighters responded to 61 emergency calls in Might, a rise of seven calls in comparison with the earlier month. 

Throughout the common month-to-month assembly of council on June 13, the protecting and emergency companies committee launched the variety of hearth calls the town’s hearth division responded to and what these calls have been. 

Station 2

Station 2 on St. Peters Street was the busier of the 2 districts, with 36 calls. The next is a synopsis of these calls: 

• alarm ringing however no hearth, 5; 
• alarm detector activated, 1; 
• alarm activated by smoke, steam or mud, 6; 
• alarm activated as a consequence of gear malfunction, 2; 
• alarm activated as a result of somebody was engaged on the system, 3; 
• cooking alarm, 7; 
• automobile accident, 3; 
• carbon monoxide name, 1; 
• constructing collapsed, 1; 
• mutual help for Island EMS, 1; 
• mulch hearth, 2; 
• grass hearth, 1; 
• Hazmat name, 1; 
• burning odor however no hearth, 2. 

Station 1

• Station 1 on Kent Avenue responded to 25 emergency calls. Following is a synopsis of these responses: 
• alarm ringing however no hearth, 3; 
• alarm detector activated, 2; 
• alarm activated as a consequence of smoke, steam or mud, 1; 
• alarm activated as a consequence of an gear malfunction, 3; 
• alarm activated as a result of somebody was engaged on the system, 5; 
• cooking alarm, 3; 
• mutual help for Island EMS, 2; 
• mutual help for an additional hearth division, 1; 
• grass hearth, 1; 
• small hearth, 1; 
• mulch hearth, 1; 
• dumpster hearth, 1; 
• automobile accident, 1.
