Automakers back U.S. restoring California emissions authority

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -5 automakers together with Ford Motor Co, Volkswagen AG and Honda Motor Co on Tuesday backed efforts by President Joe Biden’s administration to revive California’s potential to set its personal strict tailpipe and zero-emission automobile requirements.
Joined by BMW AG and Volvo Automobiles, the automakers in a courtroom submitting backed the U.S. Environmental Safety Company’s (EPA) resolution to revive the authority that was withdrawn beneath former President Donald Trump.
