Appeal court announces death of retired P.E.I. Supreme Court Chief Justice Kenneth MacDonald

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Retired P.E.I.Supreme Court docket Chief Justice Kenneth R. MacDonald died earlier this week, the P.E.I. enchantment court docket introduced Thursday.

MacDonald was appointed to the P.E.I. Supreme Court docket in 1977. He served as chief justice of the trial division from 1987 to 2001. 

He elected supernumerary standing in August 2001 and retired from the court docket in 2010. 

“Chief Justice MacDonald served the court docket and the folks of Prince Edward Island honourably for greater than three a long time,” an announcement from the P.E.I. Court docket of Attraction mentioned. 

“On behalf of the Supreme Court docket of Prince Edward Island, the Prince Edward Island Court docket of Attraction and on behalf of the Legislation Society of Prince Edward Island we prolong our deepest condolences to his household and pals.”
