An act of reconciliation at Province House in Charlottetown

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Chief Darlene Bernard of Lennox Island First Nation, who can be co-chair of the Abegweit Meeting of Councils, was among the many Mi’kmaq management, L’nuey and Parks Canada representatives who took half in a ceremony at Province Home in Charlottetown on Nov. 2, whereas the constructing is in its closing part of renovations.

Bernard stated the occasion included a smudging ceremony with the Mi’kmaq as a technique to “reset the tone of the constructing” as a optimistic act of reconciliation.
