REGINA – All massive emitters in Saskatchewan will quickly be exempt from the federal carbon tax after Ottawa authorised its proposed carbon-pricing system.
Saskatchewan and Ottawa collectively introduced that the federal output-based pricing system will now not apply within the province beginning in 2023.
This comes after Saskatchewan utilized to have pure gasoline pipelines and energy crops regulated by means of its personal carbon-pricing system.
The federal system for trade will proceed to use in Manitoba, which didn’t suggest a carbon-pricing system, in addition to Prince Edward Island, Yukon and Nunavut at their request.
