Russian billionaire Makarov’s firm slashes stake in Canadian gas producer
(Reuters) – Russian billionaire Igor Makarov’s privately held funding firm has offered greater than half its stake in Canadian pure gasoline producer Spartan Delta Corp for $121.5 million.
Makarov’s ARETI Power SPV stated on Monday it offered 15 million shares, or 9.8% of Spartan, for C$8.10 per share. After the sale, it is going to personal round 8.4% of the corporate.
The exit comes on the heels of Canadian sanctions in opposition to some Russian oligarchs and firms.
Earlier this month, Canada imposed sanctions on 5 Russian people together with billionaire Roman Abramovich and is barring 32 Russian corporations and authorities entities from receiving protection gear or provides from Canada.
“The aim of the share sale is to generate speedy liquidity and cut back ARETI’s general financial publicity to Spartan,” ARETI Power stated in an announcement.
