Prince District RCMP investigating attack at P.E.I. Acadian Festival

ABRAM-VILLAGE, P.E.I. — The East Prince RCMP is investigating an incident the place two males, ages 28 and 39, have been despatched to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening accidents.

The 2 males have since been launched from the hospital.

In a Sept. 4 assertion, the La Coopérative d’intégration francophone (CIF) mentioned that the incident occurred after a Friday evening dance on the Acadian Pageant and Agricultural Exhibition.

The discharge mentioned the victims of the assault have been a CIF worker and an immigrant shopper and referred to it as being “acts of racist violence.”

“These acts of violence don’t mirror the guts of the neighborhood, and it’s the whole neighborhood that rejects them,” mentioned CIF President Yvonne Gallant.
