Iran says Saudi Arabia wants to resume diplomatic talks with Tehran

DUBAI (Reuters) – Saudi Arabia desires to renew diplomatic talks with Tehran, Iran’s overseas ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh informed a information convention on Monday a day after Iraq’s prime minister pushed for a revival of talks between the regional rivals.

Iran and Saudi Arabia, the main Shi’ite and Sunni Muslim powers within the Center East, severed ties in 2016, with each events backing allies combating proxy wars throughout the area, from Yemen to Syria and elsewhere.

The fifth spherical of talks between the regional rivals have been held in April.
