AT&T taps company veteran as chief operating officer

(Reuters) -AT&T Inc on Friday named Jeff McElfresh, who headed its largest enterprise unit, as chief working officer, a part of the U.S. service’s efforts to refocus on its connectivity enterprise following the merger of its WarnerMedia unit with Discovery Inc.

McElfresh has been with the corporate for greater than 20 years and was most not too long ago the pinnacle of AT&T Communications.

The COO position has been vacant since John Stankey grew to become the chief govt officer in July 2020.

The Dallas, Texas-based agency on Thursday posted a 2.5% rise in income for its core telephone and web enterprise within the first quarter, because the telecom big benefited from the growth of its fiber web and 5G companies.
