2 Windsor, Ont., residents charged with being ‘leaders’ in Ambassador Bridge blockade, police say

Police in Windsor, Ont., have charged two individuals alleged to have been organizers of the convoy blockade on the Ambassador Bridge worldwide border crossing greater than 5 months in the past.
“Throughout the course of the protest, the Windsor Police Service together with partnering policing businesses labored collectively to establish individuals and the organizers/leaders concerned,” a WPS launch Thursday says.
Nycole Dicredico, 42, and William Laframboise, 41, of Windsor are each charged with mischief. They’re scheduled to look in courtroom in Windsor on Aug. 25.
The police service stated that on Feb. 9, two automobiles entered the intersection at Huron Church Highway and Tecumseh Highway West close to the Windsor-Detroit bridge, blocking northbound visitors.
“This in the end blocked visitors making an attempt to cross a global border,” police stated within the launch.
Police say the 2 who have been charged have been the drivers of the 2 automobiles and have been “leaders/organizers” of the protests.
Entry to the Ambassador Bridge was blocked the night of Feb. 7 by truck drivers and others protesting COVID-19 public well being mandates.
