At about 2 p.m. Monday, a chunk of development gear being transported alongside the freeway struck the overpass, dislodging a protecting concrete girder that fell to street beneath. That resulted within the non permanent closing of all 403 lanes and the overpass.

Following an inspection by Ministry of Transportation structural engineers and upkeep workers, the freeway and overpass have been reopened at 5:30 a.m., the Metropolis of Brantford mentioned in a information launch.

The overpass was struck final December and once more in January by outsized masses, inflicting injury that led to the closing of the median northbound lane pending repairs.
