Three mayoral candidates nominated ahead of Alberton, P.E.I. election

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Three Alberton residents are vying to develop into mayor of the city.

After nominations closed on Sept. 1, the city introduced on its Fb web page that Chester Adams, Brian Poirier and Rosetta Tremblay had put their names ahead for the place.

The election comes after the dying of former mayor, David Gordon, final March; he had served as mayor since 2018.

Following his dying, Deputy Mayor Blair Duggan was voted in as performing mayor; Coun. Alan Curtis was appointed performing deputy mayor.

Three councillor positions have been additionally up for grabs within the election. As there have been solely three nominees, Cameron Boyce, Maureen Chaisson and Holly Gordon have been acclaimed.

The city’s byelection will happen on Sept. 18.
