Summerside’s Harbourfront Theatre hosting Prince County Soldiers’ Monument commemoration event

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Harbourfront Theatre is commemorating the one centesimal anniversary of the Prince County Soldiers’ Monument in Summerside on Nov. 9.

The occasion, A Image of Braveness, is being organized by Tradition Summerside and town’s lest we forget committee.

The occasion options performances of war-era music from the P.E.I. Regiment Band and different Island performers.

Band director Capt. Rory O’Donnell chosen the music being carried out by Michelle Stetson, Javon Mayhew and Shelley Campbell Stetson.

The music was chosen to reinforce the emotion of the vignettes that seem and share a number of the tales related to the monument.

Island singer Jacques Arsenault can even carry out two songs sung throughout the monument’s unveiling on July 1, 1922.

Peter Gallant can be creating an unique music and video piece that captures the emotion mirrored within the seven-and-a-half-foot bronze soldier featured within the monument.

The soldier is being designed by sculptor Emanuel Hahn and stands upon a 15-ton granite stone that options the names of 233 males from Prince County that misplaced their lives throughout the First World Struggle.

In July 2022, Summerside employed Brett Davis, founding father of Age of Bronze in Belleville, Ont., to revive the soldier to his former glory.
