SMU’s Peverill sixth, McMaster wins first team banner in 59 years at U Sports cross-country championships at Brunello

For the primary time in 59 years, the McMaster Marauders are the highest males’s cross-country program within the nation.

Fifth-year runner Max Turek paced McMaster to the staff championship on the U Sports activities cross-country championships Saturday at The Hyperlinks at Brunello Golf Course in Timberlea.

It’s the primary males’s nationwide banner in cross-country for the college since 1963. Laval completed in second and Queen’s was third. Dalhousie positioned sixth total within the staff standings.

Turek gained the person title, ending the 8-kilometre trek in a time of 24:21. Laval’s Phillipe Morneau was runner-up (24:24), adopted by McMaster’s Andrew Davies.
