NATO chief to visit Canada for meetings with Trudeau on Ukraine, Arctic defence

NATO Secretary-Basic Jens Stoltenberg is making a go to to Canada subsequent week.

The continued Russian invasion of Ukraine, local weather change and Arctic defences would be the foremost areas of focus for conferences between Stoltenberg and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The Prime Minister’s Workplace says the pair will cease at one of many websites of the North Warning System, a part of Canada’s Norad defences, in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, on Thursday.

The following day they are going to go to a Royal Canadian Air Pressure base in Chilly Lake, Alta., and the journey will finish with a bilateral assembly.

Stoltenberg final visited Canada in July 2019, and his final assembly with Trudeau was in Spain in June of this 12 months.

Throughout that journey, Trudeau and Defence Minister Anita Anand introduced plans to develop the Canadian-led battlegroup in Latvia to a combat-capable brigade.
