NORTH RUSTICO, P.E.I. — The 2023 spring lobster fishing season opens this week alongside in P.E.I., with pleasure constructing for what may very well be one of many nicest setting days in years. 

This yr, there will likely be two opening days for the spring lobster season.

Setting day for harbours alongside the south shore will likely be on Wednesday, April 26 – 4 days sooner than the standard setting day of April 30.  

Lobster Fishing Space (LFA) 26A contains 365 boats from harbours alongside the southern coast of Victoria to Souris.  

On the north shore, crews will likely be allowed to set their traps in LFA 24 on Saturday, April 29, someday sooner than the standard date as a result of the thirtieth falls on a Sunday. 

LFAs 26A and 26B are open from 6 a.m. April 26 to shut on July 1.
