KETCHIKAN (KDN) — The industrial dive harvest fishery for geoduck clams is ready to renew throughout particular hours on Wednesday and Thursday in three harvest areas off the west coast of Prince of Wales Island.
In keeping with the Alaska division of Fish and Sport, the next areas might be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday:
• The Saint Nicholas Channel, North Lulu Island space (Subdistrict 103-70-007) will open for a remaining harvest of 90,000 kilos of geoduck clams.
• The Cone Island South and Paloma Go space (103-50-006, 104-35-006) will open for a remaining harvest of 30,000 kilos of geoducks.
• The Northwest Dall Island (104-20-003, 104-30-003) will open for a suggestion harvest degree of 21,200 kilos of geoducks.
The geoduck fishery might be closed generally from Dec. 16, 2022, via Jan. 3, 2023, for the Christmas vacation, in response to a division announcement.
